BACKYARD WARS
Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 9, 2026
Backyard Wars is made by independent developer Semih Kaya. The short version: the game may ask you for a player name; it is stored only on your device and shown above your character, and it is never sent to us or anywhere else. The game does not collect your email, advertising identifier or location, and never sells any data. To improve the game, anonymous usage statistics that are not linked to your identity (for example, which stage you find hard) are sent to the developer’s own server; you can turn this off in Settings. The only outside service is Google’s ad network (AdMob), and it is only involved when you choose to watch an optional ad for a bonus and the ad loads.

Who is responsible
The developer, Semih Kaya, is responsible for the data described in this policy. For any privacy question: mail@semihkaya.com.tr
Data the developer collects: anonymous usage statistics
To balance and improve the game (for example, to see which stage players get stuck on), the game sends anonymous usage statistics to the developer’s own server (uygulama.semihkaya.tr). This data is not shared with third parties, not sold, not used for advertising or tracking, and not combined with other data.
What is sent: the game’s first launch and sessions; the tutorial starting and finishing; stages starting, being won or lost (with the stage number and stars); rewarded-ad offers and views; and in-game events such as daily rewards, events, purchase attempts, in-game shopping, heart, booster, gear and revive purchases, and leaving a stage. Only the game version, the iOS version and your device’s region setting are sent with them.
Identifier: When installed, the game creates a random installation number on your device and sends events with it. This number is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, advertising identifier (IDFA) or the player ID in Settings (BW-…); a new one is created if you delete and reinstall the game.
Not collected: name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, location and advertising identifier. The server does not store your IP address with these statistics; the server’s standard access logs may keep IP addresses for a short time for security and operation.
How long: Event records are kept for at most about 13 months and then deleted automatically; only daily totals remain.
Turning it off: If you turn off “Anonymous analytics” in Settings, the game stops sending statistics and deletes any events not yet sent from your device.
The game has no account and no crash-reporting service. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), never asks to track you and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Optional ads
The game only has rewarded ads; there are no interstitial (full-screen) or banner ads. Ads never open on their own and are never shown during a battle; they only start when you tap. They are offered in four places and only shown if you choose them: “×2 coins” on the victory screen, the daily delivery bonus (once a day), event tokens (once a day while an event is running) and “1 heart” when you run out of hearts (once a day). The reward is given when the ad has been watched to the end. Ads need an internet connection; the rest of the game works offline.
Ads are always requested as non-personalized. No remove-ads purchase is sold, because there are no forced ads to remove.
Data Google processes
To show and measure an ad and to prevent fraud, Google AdMob may process approximate location estimated from your IP address, an app-scoped device identifier, advertising data and your interaction with the ad (impressions, taps), plus crash and performance diagnostics. This data is also listed in the App Privacy section on the App Store and is not used for tracking. Details: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services · Google Privacy Policy.
Ad consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent message asks for your choice before ads are requested. It appears after your first battle, on your first visit to the Clubhouse. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Privacy & help › Ad privacy choices; that row only appears in regions where consent is required.
Your game progress
Your progress (stages, stars, coins, gems, outfits, settings), your player name, hearts, win streak, stage scores and the gear you bought are saved only on your device. We never receive them. There is no iCloud backup yet. The player ID shown in Settings › Account (BW-…) is generated on your device and never sent anywhere; it only reaches us if you include it in a support email.
The “Anonymous analytics” option in Settings turns the anonymous usage statistics described above on or off. Your progress is not part of these statistics.
Game Center
If you sign in to Apple’s Game Center, your scores, achievements and friend matches are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not receive your Apple ID or contact details. Game Center is optional; the game works fully without it.
If you are signed in to Game Center, the game sends your furthest stage, total campaign score and longest hit to Apple’s leaderboards. The game reads these leaderboards from Apple to show the top 100 players (with their Game Center display names and scores) and your own rank on the Ranks screen, which stage your Game Center friends are on, on the map, and your weekly rank on the victory screen. This information stays between Apple and your device; it never reaches us.
In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment information. The game only receives a confirmation from Apple that a purchase was made so it can deliver the item. To track revenue and refunds, Apple also notifies the developer’s server about purchases and refunds (product, price, currency, store country, transaction number); these notifications do not include your name, email or Apple ID. If anonymous analytics is on, the purchase is linked to the random installation number described above. Only gem packs and the starter pack (an outfit, gems and coins) are sold for real money. In-game currency can buy outfits, gear, boosters, hearts and “get back up” revives. There are no random boxes. Boosters and revives are not used in versus matches.
Photos and sharing
To save a highlight card, the game asks for permission to add images to your photo library; it never reads, views or uploads your photos. If you share a card, it goes through the iOS share sheet to the app you choose.
Deleting your data
Settings › Account › Delete my data removes your save from the device after two confirmations. Deleting the game also removes all data on the device and resets the installation number. Because the anonymous usage statistics on our server are not linked to your identity, we cannot connect them to you; they are deleted automatically after about 13 months. To stop sending them, turn off “Anonymous analytics” in Settings. For any questions, write to mail@semihkaya.com.tr. For your choices about data Google processes for ads, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Children
Backyard Wars is made for a general audience (App Store age rating 13+) and is not directed at children. The game does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, and ads are never personalized.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
